L' Acquerello, arte della leggerezza

Amo l'acquerello. è una tecnica lieve ma decisa, pura ed immediata, fatta di velature luminose e a volte quasi invisibili.

L’acquerello, per me, è l’arte della leggerezza. Semplice ed essenziale, sin dai primi approcci, quando lo usavo solo per dare qualche rilievo e qualche ombra ai disegni, l’ho sentito in sintonia con la mia maniera veloce e d’impressione, spesso volutamente non-finita. Forse per questo l’ho sempre preferito. Per l’immediatezza di espressione e per raccontare un’ emozione o per fermare l’attimo alla stessa velocità del pensiero.

Semplice più a dirsi che a farsi, direte voi. Infatti è per questo che ho deciso di pubblicare il video del mio workshop sul ritratto ad acquerello, proprio perche nessun testo o libro può spiegare la tecnica ad l’acquerello meglio della visione in diretta di un all’opera.

Spero che ti piaccia e che ti incoraggi a provare le mie stesse emozioni, ma in serenità, senza tema di sbagliare, perchè ormai lo sai: l’acquerello è l’arte della leggerezza.

Watercolour, the art of lightness

I love watercolour. it is a light but decisive technique, pure and immediate, made up of luminous and sometimes almost invisible glazes.

Watercolour, for me, is the art of lightness. Simple and essential, from the very first approaches, when I only used it to give some relief and shadow to drawings, I felt it in tune with my fast and impressionistic manner, often deliberately unfinished. Perhaps that is why I have always preferred it. For the immediacy of expression and for telling an emotion or stopping the moment at the same speed as thought.

Easier said than done, you will say. In fact, this is why I decided to publish the video of my watercolour portrait workshop, precisely because no textbook or book can explain watercolour technique better than the live vision of an all'opera.

I hope you enjoy it and that it encourages you to feel the same emotions as me, but in serenity, without fear of making mistakes, because you know it by now: watercolour is the art of lightness.
